LSA Forum Rules
- You must have an active LSA account to post on our forums.
Your forum account will not be fully activated until you confirm the email that will be sent to the account you listed during registration. If you are suspended or banned you will not be able to post. If you are suspended from the forums, you can contact us and your account will be reviewed
- Ensure that your new topics are in the correct forum.
We will try to keep an eye on where everything is going and will add or remove forums if the need arises. (Suggestions are welcome.)
- Signatures are permitted, but must follow these guidelines:
Signature images within reason are allowed. Text is also permitted but must follow the forum rules regarding content. Please try to limit the size in order to keep the forum running smooth. Advertising/selling is not permitted in signature files.
- Be respectful of others at all times.
The purpose of the forum is to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas. Occasionally, there will be conflicts that arise when people voice opinions. Be courteous when disagreeing with others. It is possible to disagree without being insulting.
- Ranting is prohibited
A rant is a post which is long-winded, redundant and filled with angry, non-constructive comments. A free exchange of ideas is essential to building a strong sense of community, but rants are disruptive and incite flaming and trolling. Please post your thoughts in a concise, clear manner and avoid going off on rambling tangents.
- Personal attacks are prohibited.
Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts which are designed to personally berate or insult another. Text of this nature is not beneficial to the community spirit and will not be tolerated. Teams, Team Members and other players are cautioned to avoid allowing an on field dispute to continue on the forums. Threats will not be tolerated.
- Trolling is prohibited.
Trolling is the word used to describe a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting the members of the community. Posts of this nature are disruptive and do not convey a friendly attitude. These posts will be locked by the staff and a warning will result.
- No posting of personal information
Please respect the privacy of other LSA players and do not post information such as phone numbers and addresses. This is a public forum.
- Warnings and bans are not to be discussed on the forum.
Such matters shall remain private between the staff and the user. Questions or comments concerning warnings and bans will be conveyed through e-mail or private messaging. Likewise, discussions regarding moderator actions are not permitted on the forum. If you have questions regarding a post or thread, please contact email@example.com.
- Immediate banning from the forum can result from any of the following:
The posting of pornography; discriminatory remarks which are sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive; excessive obscene or vulgar language; posts which discuss or illustrate illegal activity; providing links to sites that contain any of the aforementioned.
- Spamming and bumping are prohibited.
Spam is considered to be repetitive posting of the same text again and again or nonsensical posts that have no substance and are often designed to annoy other forum users. Bumping posts in order to keep them near the top of the list is also prohibited. Posts of this nature are not conducive to community spirit and are unwelcome.
- Redundant threads.
As a courtesy to others before beginning a new thread, please search to see if an active thread on that topic has already been established. If so, place your comments there instead. Multiple threads on the same subject clutter up the forum needlessly, and many good ideas may be lost. Keep discussions about one topic to one thread only. Take the time to search, as many times the info can be found more quickly than waiting on a reply.
- "Newbie" bashing will not be tolerated, particularly in the New to Airsoft or LSA Forum.
New forum members are encouraged to use, but not restricted to, the New To Airsoft Forum. The New to Airsoft Forum is specifically designed to provide a platform for those who are new to the LSA community to ask questions and learn more about the game. Regular forum users are encouraged to be helpful and courteous in their responses. All flames will be automatically deleted and the poster may be warned or permanently barred from future forum use. The answers to many new players' questions may be found in the LSA FAQ and we encourage our players to seek information there before posing questions on the boards.
- All posts should be about or related to Airsoft.
The exception to this rule is the General Forum, LSA Gamers Haven and Weblinks Worth Clicking.
- Community Announcements.
These posts may only be posted in the Announcements forum. One thread is sufficient, and it can be updated as much as needed.
- Avoid using profanity.
This forum prides itself in maintaining a mature area for discussion. Profanity is not needed or desired.
- Post constructively.
Negative feedback can be very useful, provided that it is presented in a civil, factual manner. Tell us what you don't like and why and how you feel it could be improved. Posts that are insulting and rude may be locked or deleted.
- When posting, use proper English.
Proper use of punctuation, grammar, and spelling is what makes this forum easy to read and use. Users need to make a valid attempt to post using basic English. This rule does not exist to badger users or make the staff's life here more fun. On the contrary, staff does not take pleasure in having to remind people of this. However, to make the site better and easy to read for all visitors, this rule exists. By following this rule, people can find info easily and be able to read it to learn, as well as give off a mature, professional atmosphere to people curious about airsoft or studying it for a media piece. Please help in adhering to this site rule.
Do not abbreviate words, such as using "2" instead of "to". Unless used in a joking manner, do not use "kewl", "l33t", or any other "h4X0r" slang as serious post content as it is difficult for users to read. Proper English is efficient as-is and is important in trying to convey your accurate intent. We promote the basic use of the English language and expect the same of users. This includes things as simple as remembering to use a capital letter when starting sentences.
- Avoid unnecessary nested quotes.
Any more than 2 quotes nested in a post is excessive. (If you want a topic history, scroll up)
- User/moderator disputes may be arbitrated by forum administrators
The moderators are here to make everyone's visit more enjoyable and to be helpful, so if you experience any problems with abusive users, please tell a moderator. Treat others as you expect to be treated. Do not argue with the enforcement of these guidelines. If a Moderator or Admin tells you to comply with one of these rules, do so. If you argue, you'll be warned. Keep it up, and you'll be banned for an undisclosed amount of time. For questions, you may PM one of the moderators in a polite and civilized manner. To discuss any other problems or concerns, please send an e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
- The Staff has the Final Say.
The LSA staff has the final say on all matters. They reserve the right to edit or delete posts for violating the above rules. They also reserve the right to suspend or ban users for violation of the above rules. The LSA staff is made up of mature individuals assigned to help users, but not to be flamed or insulted. Treat them the way you expect to be treated. Their decisions are not to be argued. See Rule#21.
- Avoid excessive use of emoticons and the CAPS lock key
Typing in capital letters on the Internet denotes shouting and moreover can be annoying to read for forum users. Shouting is not necessary to make a reasonable point.
Excessive emoticons only serves to clutter up the forums, while not offering additional useful information.
- Search first.
Many questions will have already been asked and answered. The forums have a search feature to help you find what you need. This is also true of other Airsoft sites as well as using a search engine like Google where a wealth of knowledge exists for many of the products currently available. Helping yourself will allow you to learn much more quickly and completely rather than having information spoon-fed to you. In addition, you'll likely get your answers more quickly than depending on someone to reply.
- Respectful Usernames.
To pay respect to those that actually earned their title through hard work and dedication, only those that have earned the real title should be using them in their forum names. Just because you play as a SEAL or SWAT member in a video game doesn't make you one.
If your goal is to become a member of our military, feel encouraged and supported. However, you have not yet earned the distinction. Thus, choose an original username.
To those that have served and earned their title, we thank you.
In addition, all usernames shall adhere to the site rules for appropriate content.
Retailers and businesses are restricted to ONE thread in the Announcements forum. Spamming the forum with multiple threads and/or trying to make sales in other people's threads will result in thread/post deletion and further action if necessary.
The one allowed thread may be continued to be updated. This policy is applied across all businesses and retailers.
- LSA does not condone or support "renegade" airsoft.
"Renegade" play is when someone starts playing airsoft where they should not be (in the street, parks, in public areas, in river beds, greenbelts, parking garages, protected lands/preserves, and any place not discussed further down ). LSA supports and encourages only safe and legal airsoft play. That means that if you play airsoft, you must do so on private property with the property owner's permission and having notified local law enforcement or on secured dedicated property, such as TXPB or TACPB for example. LSA exists to provide safe fields for you to play at with other safe players per TASO rules. Do not ruin the sport for yourself and others by playing in unsafe, unsecured areas. Therefore, no discussion, advertising, or promoting of renegade locations will be permitted on the forums, and people willingly playing in such areas will be banned from the site. Such people are largely encouraged to join us for safe, sanctioned gameplay instead, but will be banned if they continue to play in non-approved areas.
- Sales, trades, and want-to-buy ads go in the Classifieds
Do not post new threads or in other people's threads in regards to items you are selling, wanting to trade, or wanting to buy. The forums are for discussion, not sales/wants ads. Use the site's Classifieds section or directly PM the person with whom you wish to start a transaction.
For breaking above rules you may be warned/banned appropriately!
