Pros:
Solid construction; great-looking replica
Cons:
Cheap pot-metal brackets; stock gearbox is nearly worthless
While this is one of the most impressive replicas on the market, there is much to be desired considering the large amount of cash the buyer will be chucking down to get one. Being the owner of two, I can verify that they are an absolute blast to carry in the field, but I can also verify that they have taken hours of work and tinkering to be a worthy skirmish weapon.
The receiver and build construction is pretty good. Feels hefty and it should considering the solid metal receiver. However, most of the brackets are cheap pot-metal, which is brittle and can definitely break over time. In addition, the stock springs to the feed tray cover and barrel assembly latch are rather weak.
The TOP gearbox is made for continous long bursts. However, since it uses cheap parts, that is only possible if you keep the stock spring in the gun. Of course, most buyers will want to upgrade the gun to skirmish muzzle velocity limits as their field rules allow. Thus, the TOP gearbox is virtually worthless if that is the case. Therefore, the buyer will be spending more money right away for upgrades. Any of this info is easily researched, and you can reference my PGC upgrade tutorial in the Site Reviews section for some of the work I have done. Even the PGC upgrade route requires a lot of time and tinkering to be effective.
Overall, this is a replica for those that are committed to being in the support weapon role, have lots of cash to throw down, and have the ability to work on guns. It is not a project for those seeking the ease of use of a Tokyo Marui replica. Thus, while I like this product, I am not recommending it, especially for the going market price.
