Pros:
Aggresive Tread, Comfortable in the Texas Heat, Good quality build
Cons:
No ankle support
When I first saw these I was a little skeptical of the tread. I couldnt see how it would really make too big of a difference from the regular tread of the jungle boots I have seen before. Now that I own a pair....I dont see myself going back to anything else.
The boot itself is the same as any other jungle boot on the market. The difference is in the sole.
It is made of a very soft rubber and is very comfortable to walk with. I have not had a problem with traction since I bought them and they look pretty damn cool to boot(no pun intended). The only down side I see is the same one of just about every jungle boot and that is there is no ankle support, but unless you are humping a 50 pound pack and an M60....I wouldnt worry about this too much.
Bottom line....these are the best boots I have ever owned. Once I finally break them in, I wont be replacing these anytime soon, and with a name like Altama....you can bet they are gonna last a long damn time!

Being in the military, these boots started to appear everywere, and I decided to get a pair. For garrison use, just walking around the base, and the office, I love these boots. But, for field training, they were nice on the road march, but when I started getting into muddy, and rocky terrain, they were horrable. The ripples get filled with mud, and then it\'s like walking on a slick piece of rubber. When coming out of water, and onto rocks, I\'m glad I was wearing a helmet, lets just say that. Basically, the only negative comment is anything relating to water. They dry great, and they shine even better. But I\'m keeping mine away from the field.
