Description: The Company Line
The Hatch Operator Glove is designed by and specifically for SWAT use and allows you to perform with surgical precision. The ergonomic fit, tactile sensation and features found in The Operator are unmatched.

The Operator’s DuPont KEVLAR construction provides excellent cut-resistance as well as heat and flash protection. It will not support flame or combust up to 800°F (427°C). The entire glove is sewn with non-melting nylon thread. Water resistant kangaroo leather palms provide superior abrasion and cut resistance. An elasticized wrist keeps the Operator taut, while the elasticized gauntlet keeps out foreign objects and prevents snagging. Cut-ring stitching allows optional removal of the index finger for trigger control, without unraveling the remaining edge.

A second layer of leather in the palm provides additional protection and is ergonomically cut to prevent bunching while clenching objects. Foam padding in the heel of the palm cushions the shock of firearm recoil. Positive Grip non-skid material in the cradle of the hand provides a confident grip when using weapons or tools.

Hatch has once again worked in cooperation with respected S.W.A.T. professionals to create tactical hand protection that allows you to perform with surgical precision, The SOG-L 100 Operator. The ergonomic fit tactile sensation and features found in The Operator are unmatched.

The Operators Kevlar construction provides twice the cut-resistance of leather as well as heat and flame protection beyond 800F. An elasticized wrist keeps the glove taut, while the elasticized gauntlet keeps out foreign objects and prevents snagging. Cut-ring stitching allows optional removal of the index finger for trigger control, without unraveling the remaining edge.

An Armor-Tan treated goatskin leather palm with DRAGON print etching gives 25% more abrasion resistance than untreated goatskin and optimizes grip. A second layer of leather in the palm provides additional protection and is ergonomically cut to prevent bunching while clenching objects. Pros: Nice fit, Very comfortable, Great tactile sensation
Cons: Medium Durability.

Personal Experience

Okay, let me start by saying: Fresh out of the box - this glove is superb. You\'ll slide it on and it feels like you\'re sliding into your favorite set of PJs and ready to hunker down for a while. You\'ll notice that the extention from the wrist is actually QUITE comfortable and does not increase heat (and is quite protective from nature\'s deadly poison ivy).

What\'s great is that you can actually feel everything through this glove. It could function as a work glove, cold weather glove and a tactical assault glove. It has the tactile feel part wrapped up. I don\'t think there is a glove on the market that compares in that area.

Then the honeymoon ends. Don\'t get me wrong, it\'s a great glove - but it isn\'t meant to take a beating.

If you\'ve read any of my other reviews - you\'ll know I play in Texas. More specifically - Houston, Texas. In the spring/summer months - Houston is one soggy place to live. We get more rainfall then Seattle, Washington (inch-per-inch).

So, I get to play in a lot of mud, heat and humidity.

On the plus side - the glove isn\'t extraordinarily hot. In fact, when I remove the glove after a long game, I don\'t feel any different then I did while wearing it.

Also on the plus side is the extension from the wrist. I wasn\'t completely sold on that wrist extension until I actually wore the glove in my first skirmish. It kept all the undergrowth and poison ivy and creepy crawlies out of the sleeve of my BDUs. It also wasn\'t hot in the least, so I highly recommend that feature. (Hatch also sells the \"shorty\" and \"mid\" operator glove)

On the negative side - the mud and sweat doesn\'t wear too well on these gloves. The fabric it is made out of is very comfortable and soft, but the flip side to that is that it is very easy to catch on brush. The brush won\'t tear the glove, but it will definitely wear them in quickly.

The real issue is the mud and water. In my first real muddy game, I had to wash the gloves afterwards. No problem. I dropped them in the sink, gave them a little water and self-scrubbed them (without any detergent). I hung them up, so as not to let the leather deform ... and when I came back to check on them ... a lot of areas were losing color (almost to the point of being white).

Now, I know, that isn\'t the worst thing. It could be a lot worse. But, it makes me question the overall durability. I haven\'t had to wash them again, but I\'d worry about doing it.

I don\'t \"not recommend\" this product, because in functional use it has no true equal. The real question is how long will it last.

I don\'t know. My gloves are still in operation and still work like a dream - maybe I had an isolated incident. Maybe the color bleed isn\'t indicative of any other issue.

For the price Botach Tactical has the gloves ($29.95) - it is a pretty easy blind recommendation and purchase. At that price, the gloves can basically be a throw-away. You owe it to yourself to give them a whirl, because operationally speaking \"these gloves are world class\". I would have given them a 9-10 if it wasn\'t for the color bleeding issue.

If you use them in dry weather conditions and will never get them soaked ... then you have nothing to fear.
