Based off the ALICE Pack platform , in addition to numerous external pouches and additional features and is constructed out of 1000 Denier Cordura , sewned together with 138 Bonded Nylon thread . This pack with removable Sleeping Bag / Ghillie Suit carrier runs approximately 7700 to 8000 cubic inches of storage. The " YOSEMITE " has the removable Sleeping Bag / Ghillie Suit carrier and can be replaced with an alternative bottom when extra storage volume is not needed . Both access options attach via 2 - #10 separating zippers, Both options will allow for bottom access into the main compartment.
Main compartment has a deeper radio pouch to accomendate the larger radios or be used for compartmentalized gear . It has a side-release closure strap as well as a compression strap to cinch down gear within . On top and on bottom the main compartment has a storm-flap made of 420 denier nylon . Top storm- flap has drawstring closure w/cordlock and a 12" zipper access by means of zipper for radio antennae and handset cords to pass through or for quick access to radio controls . Bottom storm-flap has drawstring closure to help minimize weight on the bottom panel .
Sleeping Bag / Ghillie suit compartment carrier also has a storm-flap w/ drawstring closure to help seperate gear within and to keep Ghillie suit garnish from getting entangled within the zippers . If needed to be cached , Sleeping bag or all other gear within stays within . On the outside back , MOLLE type webbings ( 4 channels ) is placed for optional pouches . Additional straps w/side-release buckles to help releave pressure on the zippered connections along with the supports straps . This compartment can hold the GI 3 piece sleeping system easily and is 52 inches in circumference X 11 inches deep .
Top Flap / convertable Day-Pack , is larger than the normal issue top cover of the ALICE . It is also 3" thick X approx. 52" circumfrence ( roughly 15" T X 16" W ) with zippered opening nearly 4/5th the way . It has 2 large mesh zippered compartments with MOLLE type webbings (5 rows ) for addition gear to be attached ( such as for MOLLE type hydration system or claymore / map pouches ) . This top Flap is removeable and can connect to any of HSGI Chest rigs . Or with small modifications to your present LBV , or also can attach shoulder straps to become a stand alone pack .
Exterior main body pouches are larger than standard ALICE pouches . All pouches extend 4 inches in depth from the main body to give that extra room for storage . These are measurements of each of these pouches :
2 x Side Pouches - 6" W X 4" D X 17" T 2 x Inner Pouches ( top row ) - 6" W X 4" D X 8" T 1 x Center Pouch ( top row ) - 11" W X 4" D X 8" T 2 x Inner Pouches ( bottom row ) - 7 1/2" W X 4" D X 9 1/2" T 1 x Center Pouch ( bottom row ) - 8" W X 4" D X 9 1/2" T
Side and bottom row pouches have small flat compartments behind them for holding misc. flat items . Most pouches have Dummy loop to secure gear . Every pouch except Top center has a compression strap , but all have cinch straps w/ cordlocks on top of pouch as well as the traditional flap cover w/ side-release closures .
A 2" wide Carrying handle is sewn within the main body as well as on the removable ( 1" wide carrying handle ) Top-Flap for convenience . When SB / GS carrier is attached ( and smaller sleeping system is used with storm-flaps opened ) , the "Yosemite" is tall enough to carry long object such as rifles , poles , etc within for concealment .
This is a huge pack for those whom have to carry large amount of gear . A smaller version is on the drawing board that will be very close to this discription above .
The "Yosemite" will be produced in OD and in Khaki . All other colors patterns will be by request and will take additional time to produce .
