Side by side:
Left - TM G3/SG1 with standard foregrip, bipod and flashhider.
Right - TM G3/SG1 with Laylax-First Factory MSG90 foregrip and barrel shroud.
Differences:
Based on my initial estimates, the L-FF MSG90 barrel shroud will allow for a custom inner barrel of approximately 700-707mm. This will, of course, necessitate an increase in the cylinder volume.
Assembly comparisons:
G3/SG1 foregrip - fixed bipod, no rail attachments. MSG90 - no bipod, installed six inch rail interface, there appears to be room to attach another six inch rail interface or replace the entire lower component with a single twelve inch rail interface.
Outter barrel attachment. G3/SG1, single grub screw through forward sight ring and outter barrel. MSG90, dual grub screws through outter barrel attachment ring.
Flash hider. G3/SG1, stock flash hider on tapered outter barrel. MSG90, eleven and a half outter barrel shroud with foam core insert (white).
Overall thoughts:
The MSG90 foregrip adds approximately one inch of foreward gripping length to the AEG, whereas the barrel shroud adds about six inches overall. The forward sling swivel and sight rings are removed on the MSG90 necessitating an alternative for slinging the rifle and requiring a scope mount and optic.
The foregrip attaches very securely using a nut and screw in place of the pin on the stock G3/SG1 foregrip. The dual grub screws on the barrel shroud attachment secures the shroud very well. However, the overall added length of the barrel magnifies the classic G3 "barrel wobble" and "body creak", when gripping the forward most position of the shroud.
In general the quality of all the materials and components of the MSG90 kit is rather impressive. Although, as with most airsoft components, several steps will be necessary to make it more secure. I plan to experiment with a single piece outter barrel and chamber block. I also feel that the foregrip can be kept from squeaking against the body by using the typical electric tape solution.
My only major gripe was the gap between the shroud threading and the inner barrel. The gap was so large that merely lifting the AEG resulted in a serious rattle. I cured this by taping the inner barrel, but had to do this from the front end of the AEG after removing the hop up.

Is trigger removal a feature of the MSG90 kit?
