I'm wondering the exact same thing. wouldnt it be far more expensive to run a gas AE... err rifle... than an AEG?
I really cant think of any benifits from using gas, aside from the increased noise (if thats your thing)

Have you ever heard of Classics?
Gas is different than electric.
That system is extremely reliable, can push 600 fps, has a high rate of fire, can be submerged in water, with an LRB can shoot bb's extremely far, adjustable rate of fire, and it doesn't sound like a damn sewing machine.

It is easier to just send them here: www.classicairsoft.net
Read the FAQ articles and such, guys. The appeal of the classic guns is that they were built much more realistically, along with the other points mentioned above. In addition, certain gas internal systems offer some recoil. I have a couple sound files comparing a gas gun to an AEG, and the gas gun sounds much cooler.

interesting... though I think I still think I would prefer AEGs, seeing a gas gun out on the field woud be cool though. The noise would be rather intimidating compared to the whine of an AEG.
