I made the suggestion of doing an overnight for Friday. Dave said good to go. (We're coming in from Belton Lake this week so it works out great for us.) Then late Saturday night with BBQ and possibly movies on the side of the trailer. (It makes a great screen! Any one have a projector?)

I'll get more details and post as i-net connection allows. Would be a good time for some of us Austin folks to hit the Temple field and hang out since it's a long weekend for many of us. The weather up this way this week has been fairly decent.

I believe this is happening in the UK, and if it is they have the right idea! From all the videos I've seen of OPs over the pond, and their great websites that have EVERYTHING, but cost a fortune to ship, I'd say these guys are some of the most hardcore airsofters in the world.
I was on popularairsoft.com (thanks Wolv for telling me about this site), and I came across this article about a 6 month long airsoft Tour Of Duty. The massive campaign follows an ongoing story line, and the teams stay the same for the duration, but obviously the participants do not stay in 'theater' for the whole six months . I'll drop the link if you are curious to read more, but to all you promoters, and event hosts that may be reading this, we NEED to do something like this in Texas (unless it's already been done, and I'm late to the party). Obviously the weather is much more convenient in the UK to pull something like this off, but maybe we could start with a three month Tour in the spring or fall. Do you guys have any thoughts on making something like this happen?

So I've been gone for the past week visiting family up in Colorado. First off the weather there was awesome. It was like God had the AC on for the entire state. Anyhow I digress, on to my point..

Yesterday I decided to bring home a KWA G18C airsoft gun from Colorado. I decided to treat it as a real firearm and put it in a hard sided locked case in my baggage. Additionally I disassembled the slide from the lower receiver and removed the mag. I went up to the Frontier counter (DIA) and told the attendant I had a "BB" Gun in my checked baggage as most people don't know what an airsoft gun is. She told me that they still treat is as an unloaded firearm and I filled out the appropriate orange ticket then let TSA rifle through my belongings. There were no issues and it was a pretty fast process. In the end everything went smooth and It was still in my bag when I got to Austin late last night. I'd say it was a positive experience; given I really didn't need to disassemble my gun but I'm glad I took the extra precaution.

Alright guys, as I am setting up my Airsoft field and Shop, I am wondering either, if there is a gun ya'll want, but want to pick it up and get a feel for it, I might get one of those so you can pick it up, and, etc. Also, just wondering which guns ya'll would be getting. So I can get an Idea for the Types of guns ya'll would be getting in the future. So I will have those guns in my store. Another thing. Just saying, if your gonna order a gun, or airsoft thing, could you order it from me, so my business can get off the ground, just so we finnaly get a local airsoft store in Austin? Not trying to sound selfish, in a way but it would be beneficial to all of us.

Spoke with Sarge out at Tactical Paintball. He will be open and running for Airsofters this weekend if anyone want to roll out there. Several members of the Wolfpack will be there.

Man, I had a great time this last Saturday in Temple. Anyway, the Field says that Sat. 28th is free play for all who show up (will require help with the field work afterward). Also, I now have my Modification shop up and running. I prefer to specialize in external mods to GBB guns, but I modify anything. I'm talking about things like making the bolts / full metal bodies lighter, or adding mount points in special spots, or maybe adding a rail mount to your favorite pistol for a red dot sight.
