I was looking to make a inexpensive SWAT loadout for recreation purposes and was wondering what to get and where to get it. All suggestions are welcome.

I am looking to use my MP5 with the loadout.

Your request is pretty vague, simply because no one knows what you'd consider to be a SWAT loadout. Can you clarify? Are you looking to replicate something from a film? Something you've seen online? Or would you simply be satisfied with anything in black?

Really im just looking for a black tac vest kinda like the one in SWAT the movie. right now ive got an acu molle system vest for woodland combat that i really like but i wanted something a bit more authentic looking to go with my MP5, that real SWAT teams would wear. ive already got the SWAT patches, i just need a vest.

is the BlackHawk Omega Phalanx HSV Vest a good vest for a SWAT loadout?

Sure, if you like it, that's all you need.

"SWAT" is a term that covers a wide variety of law enforcement capabilities. There are hundreds of tac response teams around the world. Some have set loadouts/equipment, others leave the choice up to the individual officers. Are you looking into SWAT-like gear or are you trying to put together an accurate impression?

More details means more help.

In that case, there are a multitude of different options for you. A Blackhawk Omega-type vest could fit the bill and not cost you an arm and a leg, or you could go even further with a modular platform like the Eagle CIRAS or LE Plate Carrier with cumberbund.

I think it really depends on where your at.

For instance, in San Deigo, they wear black. In Detroit, they have navy.
Also, what about a Kevlar helmet? Do you need one of those? (I'm going to try this loadout, too)

Some use black, some use navy, some use OD. I've seen teams in woodland or tac-tiger patterns. Just depends.

Also, we capitalize and use punctuation marks here. Just a reminder.
