I posted that same article on OKairsoft yet still had people try to argue that it was staged or some type of conspiracy against mesh mask users. Personally I've shot a mesh mask with a 400 fps gun at 3 feet and the bb did splinter. That was when we decided that mesh masks weren't allowed on our fields. I don't know if it was the mask, the bb or a combination of both but after having just suffered an eye injury that kept off work for 6 weeks I'm not willing to take any chances. Just my .02 cents worth.

Wow! That is shocking! I would have never guessed that mesh masks were that unsafe? Thanks Austinwolv i will think twice before purchasing.

My first eye protection purchase was a mesh mask a few years back, but I've never actually fielded it. Before my first skirmish everyone here advised against it. Come to think of it, I don't recall ever seeing anyone here in Austin ever use on in a skirmish.
