Is theres someone local that i can buy bbs from cheap?

IMIRanger
12-12-2006, 06:12 PM
Contact Crown and you may be able to buy some bbs from him. I believe his prices are $5 for 1000 bbs. He may only have .20 bbs too. If you don't want to buy from him for some reason you can always go to Academy and buy the Cybergun .25 bbs. Those are the highest quality bbs that they sell. I have never had a bad experience with them either.

I should have plenty of Airsoft Elite .20g and .25g BBs which I can sell. PM me for details.

Cybergun bbs. Eww. I know this sounds wierd but I bought a bottle of .20g pellets and I saw one with a ridge on it. So to protect my new 300 dollar investment I personally inspected the whole 2000 rounds and found about 60 or so with major defects. Be carefull with them. I would like to go this weekend to try out said investment too.

miguel
12-13-2006, 07:55 PM
Where did you buy these cybergun bb's

The .12 are pretty bad but ive always thought that .2+ cybergun bb's didn't have seams.

I am staying at the Super Motel 8 (downtown area) next to I-35 near the Capitol building

Kyle, 205 meadow woods

That is the address ( I think )

would anyone let me carpool with them to the game?

I already contacted Crown, so gun, and goggles shouldn't be a problem, but I will still need at least one bag of BB's to get me through the game.
Anyone I can buy from?

I will also be going to the game on the 30th, but I havn't registered yet. . .

sealguy, welcome to the site. Take the time to review the site rules, particularly #18.

Also, please learn to start looking around the forums for info. Many times the answers can be quickly found instead of waiting on someone to respond to your post.
For example, this was easily found in the TXPB subforum: http://www.lonestarairsoft.com/forums/showthread.php?t=715

Ok, great. Who knows? We might even be in the same group Banshee :p

I checked on Google Earth to get a general idea of where the place is.

I found Nameless rd, so I think I know where it is, and my father has agreed to drive me there.

I assume the game will end at 11:00 PM ??

I ask because my father wants to know when to pick me up.

Should I bring food? Or does TXPB provide a lunch and dinner?

Are you referring to the skirm on the 17th (tomorrow)? If so, we play until people decide it's time to leave, which is generally is somewhere inbetween 4:30 and 5:45. I'm not sure when TxPb closes, but I'm sure that if you had enough people interested, yall could stay a bit later.

As far as lunch goes- bring either your own sandwich or bring a few dollars for snacks (gatorade, chips, candy, granola bars, etc.).

Cookerman
12-16-2006, 11:21 AM
I checked the TXPB website, and they say that operations usually end around 23:00 hours.

But you guys skirmish there, so you would know better than me.

So figure the game will end at 6 right?

What about night games?

And I will bring a couple sandwhiches

Dark Paladin
12-16-2006, 11:40 AM
Games will usually end before 6pm, and I do believe TxPB starts shutting down at 6pm on Sundays.

Night games are generally NOT held on Sundays because most of us do have to work in the morning.

Its jsut last time I played the battery didn't hold the charge and I had to recharge right befor the game.

Also, is the feild fee still $10?

dylseixa, yes, field fee is $10.

I was wondering, how long are the rounds being played, also should I bring a ghillie suit?

Just so I am clear, when your hit you have to go back to your base, but are there any time penalties?

Also are the scenarios decided on the feild or here?

AustinWolv
12-16-2006, 07:46 PM
how long are the rounds being played
Anywhere from 30-90mins each.

also should I bring a ghillie suit?
Only if you want to. Not necessary, but feel free if you would like to wear one.

when your hit you have to go back to your base, but are there any time penalties?
"When you are hit....."
It depends on how we have the particular scenario set up. Sometimes you'll have to sit out until the start of the next skirmish and sometimes you'll respawn at a set point or via a medic.

Also are the scenarios decided on the feild or here?
For regular weekly skirmishes, at the field nearly 99% of the time. Scenario ideas and suggestions are welcome, and many are posted in the Scenario forum.

12-17-2006, 12:59 AM
As we are on the topic of loaner mags, I thought it might be the right time to ask if anyone playing tommorow might have an extra AK high-cap. The old FAMAS has proven a bit creaky in its old age, but I dont think I could manage all day with just a 250 round high cap for the AK.

Thanks

First round, you guys defended too well.

Second round, you guys pushed too fast .

Except for a few instances of asshattery which may need to be addressed at a later date, I had a good time. It was great to see a good turnout like we had today. Kudos to OPFOR for keeping us on our toes.

HammerHead
12-18-2006, 12:00 AM
There was some good gameplay and some bad gameplay today. Everyone needs to be more conscientious of their actions on and off the field. Two things that need to be addressed:

1. Never discharge your replica in the parking lot. PARTICULARLY IN THE DIRECTION OF INDIVIDUALS NOT WEARING EYE PROTECTION. I can't believe there was even an argument over this issue today. Mags out, safeties on, no exceptions whatsoever. If you need to test fire your weapon or adjust the hopup, take two minutes to walk a hundred feet away from the parking area and take care of you weapon.

2. A cease fire is not an excuse to advance your position. Specifically if a cease fire is called to allow a vehicle free movement through our engagement zones, it is not acceptable to use that vehicle as COVER while you advance. The whole purpose of calling the cease fire was to protect the driver and vehicle!

AustinWolv
12-18-2006, 12:09 AM
3. There was a young kid literally hanging on the fence near the front of the property watching the action without eye protection. He was not a player obviously. He was instructed to please leave the area for his own eye safety and if he wanted to watch to get some goggles from the front office. As Ronin brought up in the pre-skirmish briefing, please keep an eye out for bystanders who may wander into the area without eye protection.

I might have access to 80 acers of land, would anyone be intrested in a game near Elgin? Going down 79 to 95 and a little more, its about a 20-30 minute drive depending on how you drive. I might be going out there this week, I have to do some work in trade for him (kill some hogs and crows).

I'll try and post some pics, good game to all.

AustinWolv
12-18-2006, 02:37 PM
What I want to know is why some people think it appropriate to talk smack to opposing players? This isn't streetball. I played plenty of streetball back in the day and can run trash well enough. Running your mouth isn't needed in airsoft, isn't part of the culture that we should be fostering, and doesn't do anything for sportsmanship. Instead it leads to too much competitive loopholing of the rules and such. You know what I mean if you've spent any time playing pickup ball.
Keep your mouth shut, tell people "good shot" when they get you, and go on your way.

If you have a problem with someone on the field, talk it out with them maturely afterwards. Not clearing the air is as nearly as bad as freaking out.

If someone has repeated problems over time, it can be addressed then. Otherwise, give someone the benefit of the doubt if they are new and/or you aren't 100% sure of the situation.

MeanGreen7
12-18-2006, 03:38 PM
Yes, that was me behind the vehicle boat, I even did it jokingly, but non the less I did it and I appoligize. I did go back to my original position though and continued play. Sorry for any offenses or causing any ill feelings. Was a great game day over all OPFOR really did a great job holding ground in defending and advancing. :D

Great skirm to everyone, it was a blast! Awesome weather, awesome turnout, couldn't have asked for more.
Trench scenario was sweet, mixed it up for everyone, and proved a tactical challenge for both sides.
It was also cool to see some guys out in some different cammo. Will out there in full gilly suit to snipe, and our sniper support team was an awesome addition, and mixed up the tactics in a great way.

Totally agree with the gun safety. That stuff was put out in the briefing, and really should just be common sense. I also wanted to address the issue of muzzle safety, saw a few guys with thier weapons slung with the barrels facing up. I know to most people that really doesnt probably bother them, but i've seen more neglegant discharges than i'd like to remember, and i'd hate to see someone bend over with it slung or something and the trigger get caught...and something bad happens. Maybe it's just me being nitpicky, but i'd rather be nitpickey and everyone be safe than anything.

And I dont know about the smacktalking. I saw a situation get a little out of hand, but the two players talked it out. so I think Wolv hit it on the head. My philosophy is that when a situation develops, look at it from their point of view. Misunderstandings and inexperience are small flaws that make mountains out of molehills, so just try and be patient.

Good stuff guys.

How did that work anyway? Was it stark and stood out, or did it actually work in the field? I must say that it's a very comfortable and practical garment as well as being unique.

Given that I'm probably the most un-stealthy guy around, you should really be ashamed of yourself! ;)

Haha, yeah TR, I think it worked pretty good. Maybe not down by the creek bed so much because it's lighter down there, but it did work well in the forest.
