Should be there.

I'm dvr-ing the Daytona 500 since it will be the first time in years that I wont be watching it live...... God help anyone if they mention who won before I am able to get home and watch it.:cussing:

Heh, everyone that's replied so far 'should' be there. I WILL be there, hopefully I won't arrive to the sound of crickets. Dang, I think the last time I played was out in Elgin...I'll need someone to show me how to load bb's into my mags probably.

Hope to be there with a few potential future airsofter's. I'll be sure to clue them in on safety and the honor system prior to arrival, otherwise enjoy the new targets - I don't think they own any cammo! I'm also hoping the weather turns out better than the weatherman is prediciting!

Well, if we say "should be there" and don't make it; no big deal. If you say "WILL be there" and don't make it; i'll laugh at you forever.

:haha: Just like that.

First off, welcome to the site.

Frequently asked questions such as what to expect can be found here:

Frequently asked questions such as what to bring can be found here:

http://www.lonestarairsoft.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1886

Basically, bring water (and something to carry it in), full-sealing ANSI rated goggles, and your favorite AEG. If you're fielding a springer, you're still welcome to play, but expect to be out-gunned.

We will be playing at Hunters this Sunday, and directions can be found here:

http://www.lonestarairsoft.com/forums/showthread.php?t=713

Last but not least, the starting time was listed at the beginning of this thread, which is arrive at noon, start playing at 1PM.

There is a wealth of information readily available throughout the site, and using the search function will get you there fast. Also, once you get to the field, we'll also brief you further on the specifics of gameplay.

Also, you only need one post. Editing IS an option.

The Shift key is your friend as well.:)

Where can I get an AEG quickly?

Dark Paladin
02-17-2006, 12:35 AM
That depends. You can get it quick, but how much are you willing to spend? Furthermore, do you know what style of AEG you like? A decent AEG will run you $250-350. Are you ready to drop that much on something that you have never seen, much less researched?

If none of the above are a concern, Airsoftworx.com will serve your needs easily.

To add to what DP said, there are those who can rent you an AEG for a local skirmish so you can get the feel of what you like. If you come out to a skirmish, plenty of players would be happy to let you check out their swag...and we DO have cool swag.

Dragon
02-17-2006, 02:46 PM
IF you do rent an AEG you'll need to arrange for that PRIOR to showing up.

Don't confuse "check out our cool swag" with permission to play with it on the field. They are not the same.

Just post a request up here in this thread for one. You might also PM Agro or Obsidian directly for rentals.

I'll be down From Ft. Hood with a truck full o' toys,
All for the good Whiskey girls (and the boys),
All cammie'd up for a day full of fun,
I play in the rain just as well in the sun,

How much do ya'll usually charge to rent an AEG?

Dark Paladin
02-17-2006, 06:45 PM
It varies from person to person, and best arranged with the owner prior to the skirmish.

Contact a person beforehand to make arrangements: http://www.lonestarairsoft.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20

Large majority of the replicas use 6mm BBs, available from www.airsoftworx.com

I figure if hundreds of people can run a marathon a 7:30 this morning when the temps are LOWER than they'll be at skirmish time, then I have NO excuse not to pleay airsoft today.......

Due to weather concerns, I'm out. AW, I will do the swap with you later this week if possible, otherwise we'll meet up at Op:CF.

Nice day for Airsoft...well, you know, for those of us who SHOWED.:D

MrZero
02-19-2006, 08:13 PM
Yeah, it was a good day. And thanks to Wolv who shot Bear in the second skirmish, allowing Bear to see my knife at his feet that I lost two weeks ago. Thanks Bear!

AustinWolv

Roads were perfectly fine. Weather wasn't too cold actually because there was no wind; sound carried in the S woods. Small turnout that was pretty fun.

Wish I could have made it, since I was outdoors all day anyways. At least I know my clothing is warm enough for even the coldest airsoft matches (went out my fieldtrip in what I'd wear to airsoft)... 7am to 6:30pm outdoors in the friggin cold, yeehaa. Hopefully see ya'll next saturday, even if my AEG doesn't arrive.

AustinWolv

Hopefully see ya'll next saturday, even if my AEG doesn't arrive. Yeah, feel free to come out. Shoot, you could be a combat photographer if you wanted. ;)

I had a blast today! I'm learning alot with each new skirmish. The woods around Phoenix were creepy and quiet. Combined with the weather, it gave it a "Ardennes forest" vibe. Very cool. The Alamo scenario we ran at the shack was my favorite. Good times all around that I won't soon forget.

Damn. Those sound like fun. Ah well. I'm just getting over a nasty little upper espiratory infection that caused me to miss two days of work last week. The evil Judy insisted that I not "go out and play in the cold and damp"! :cussing:

For the best I suppose.

See you all in a couple of weeks.
