I was wondering if there are any upgrades for the Maruzen Type 96 sniper rifle? I'd like to have one, but I'd have to upgrade it.

There are quite a few. Cylinder set, tightbore barrels, barrel spacers, trigger sets, hopup chamber.....
A couple of us have upgraded Type96 rifles actually, with all of them being upgraded. It is quite a simple rifle to work on. However, it takes some tweaking hopup-wise to get shooting accurately, and most people aren't thrilled with the accuracy. Personally, I haven't found it to be a huge problem, but other rifles, such as the VSR-10, are a bit cheaper to get shooting accurately at the muzzle energy you desire.

Thanks, I'll look into the VSR-10.

There are several threads on the VSR-10 on this site that might provide a starting point. Definitely a cheaper route than a Type96, proving to be a good bolt-action.
UTG (a knockoff specialist) recently released a copy for pretty cheap if I'm not mistaken. There should also be a thread about that replica here in the forums also.
