Does anyone know if it would be safe to use a 7.2 volt, 1800 mah battery in an AEG. I have remote controlled racing boat that i have fidddled with to make it take two of these batteryies and was wondering if the same batteries would operate in an AEG. If it helps the maker is CEN and they are both Ni-cad.

Help would be appreciated as i need a small back up battery and these would be choice.

Redwolf Airsoft, an overseas dealer, sells 7.2v batteries. So I would assume you'd be ok.

However, if your mechbox has any upgrades in it the battery might not last very long if it even turned over the gears. It might not last very long without upgrades in it.

Yup....Odds are you would just lockup your mechbox because the battery doesnt have the juice to turn it.

Sounds like I would be better off getting a new battery. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

When I first bought my (stock) M16A2 I ran it on two 7.2V 1800mAh batteries for a long time until I upgraded to 8.4V. There shouldn't be any trouble running a 7.2V battery in a stock gun, but any upgrades to the spring will require a higher voltage on the battery to keep up the ROF.
