What makes the BB's fly crazy towards the end of thier flight? As in, going left or right from the target even though one keeps the sights on target? I am speaking of an almost no wind situation, too...

My gun did that (when it worked...)it always seemed to curve to the left no matter how much I fiddled with it. My guess is its associated with the hopup.

Lack of dimples. Seriously, if the bb's could be dimpled like a golf ball they would fly a lot straighter, or at least down the same flight tragectory they started out at.

Do research on Muskets and the change from balled round lead ammo to conical(sp) shaped ammo. They had the same problem, short range and funky on the end of it's flight path.

If we could find bullet shaped BB's and use rifled barrels then accuracy would increase 100 fold. But then you'd have to worry about feeding, propellents, and a whole slew of more EXPENSIVE things.

also the blunted ends would cause a higher casualty rate from piercings...
