View Full Version : To upgrade or not to upgrade.

Okay, Im most likely gonna be getting a vsr-10 pro sniper. But im debating on upgrading it to 450 fps or leaving it at 300. If I leave it at 300 im not restricted by the 100ft minimum shooting range. But if I do upgrade my rounds will fly straigher and I will get some more range out of it.
Im gonna be using it for medium range (from 80-120 ft.) and don't plan to do serius long range sniping, all I need is something that can out range the average aeg, not hit a grasshopper off a twig a mile away.

Since the average AEG in TX is at 400fps with .2g, you are going to have a hard time outranging one with a 300fps/.2g sniper rifle. That isn't even considering that fact that you will have far less rate of fire with a bolt-action.
However, since you did not ask any questions in your post, that implies you are going to do it anyway. Good luck.

Sruikyl, go ahead and upgrade the sniper. 300fps is not suitable even for mid range sniping, 450fps on the other hand would be. If you are worried about getting in too close purchase a gas pistol to use as a sidearm and you will be just fine.

can you upgrade a vsr gspec with an aeg spring?
I believe particular springs are needed for the VSR series. I'm pretty sure Redwolf has them in stock.

You could always try one of the new AEP's as a side arm.

Yes, the VSR-10 requires specific springs. They are realtively easy to find.
