i was wondering, how many bbs can you shoot before having to wind again? and how long does it take to wind completely?

daj, try exhibiting a bit of patience. You expect an answer in 1 hour? Furthermore, most people don't put drum mags on MP5s because it looks and is silly. However, I'm sure there is some info out there on this particular item, although I do not have any experience with it.

For example, a quick 10 second search on ASP yielded this thread: http://www.airsoftplayers.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4343&SearchTerms=mp5,drum

In that thread, they reference the drum mag you ask about. Since they mention MP5 hi-caps being used, my experience with MP5 hi-caps in the past leads me to believe that about 30 rounds will be loaded at a time, after which more winding will be required.

Ok, not sure if anyone has asked/told you this but please, refrain from the terse typing on the forums. The chatbox is fine for this but we'd like to keep it to a minimum on the forums.

The rules of the site even mention it.

I personally have never used the 3k round mags but I do use the 1k rd winding drums when toting the MP's. I also have never wound them till they are ready to go and counted how many rds are expended before i have to wind them again. I just wind them up when there is down time.

If I remember correctly, you should have the access rights to edit your previous posts. Thus, there is no need to create multiple posts in a row just because you forgot to ask something. Go back to the previous post if nobody has answered, and edit that post to include the new question. This helps limit clutter on the forums.

I was wondering, daj, why you are going out of your way to get a mag that you will not have to wind. During battles you are not going to outright use 240 bb's. There will always be down time that will alow you to wind your mag. Just my oppinion.

I dont mind the winding but I would like to own one that you wouldn't have to wind as often. Plus my high cap magazine misfires consistently, you only get 30 shots, if that, per winding, and it never works in semi-auto.

That most likely is a problem relating to the gun itself, you might want to spray some silicon where the bb's feed and in your mag.

daj

Yeah I tried that and it did not help very much.

if it's an older mag, the internal gear with it's metal spindle could be off it's hinge or the little catch lever that keeps the gear wound up, just isn't doing it's job.

Yeah I got the magazine for Christmas and it hasn't worked well since I got it. But according to what I have read online I am not the only person that is having a hard time with mp5 High-caps.

I had a 1000 Tops MP5 drum mag that winds, I thought it didn't work so i sent it back. Turns out i was using the wrong BBs, other than that, it worked fine.

What bbs were you using?

spartan9873
02-07-2005, 07:07 PM
.25, they were jamming the gun. then i switched to .20s and it stopped jamming... the .25s were not high grade and the .20s were

daj
02-07-2005, 07:29 PM
Did it work perfectly after that?

spartan9873
02-07-2005, 07:34 PM

spartan9873
02-07-2005, 07:42 PM
I would suggest it if you are fine with winding, not saying that you have to wind too much, but you know. I can give you the site i got it from if you need it.

daj
02-07-2005, 07:43 PM

daj
02-07-2005, 07:51 PM
Well If you got a full refund it wouldn't of cost you anymore money. I would of bought it again if I was you.

daj

Yeah I'm thinking of buying one eventually, after I finish making a sniper configuration out of my mp5a4.

daj
02-07-2005, 08:35 PM
After my sniper config I'm gonna make a support gunner configuration. I'll be able to fulfill any role lol.

Sweet, that gun doesn't have burst does it?

Sweet, that gun doesn't have burst does it?
No. The only AEG that had the burst feature was the SIG550/551 from TM.

This thread has served its' purpose.
