Has anyone used this radio and if so is it or could it be a good sub. for the ICOM IC-F4s?

I THINK the transmit freq is out of range. Too low, 450 needs to be up to 470. Receive isn't though.

I would say no:
1. It doesn't include frequency bands compatible with those used by FRS/GMRS.
2. I pulled several reviews. Each complimented its HAM radio capabilities, but spoke ill of its accessory features and prices. That indicates to me you'll have problems finding a rugged, reliable headset/PTT.
3. Additional battery packs for it are expensive - $80.
