I have read that tthe m40a1 TGC gun is just a regular m40a1 with the gas cylinder upgrade. I also read that a regular m40a1 converted into a gas gun will only fire seven shots max. Is this the same with the TGC or are these two guns totally different?

The M40A1 TGC is just a M40A1 with a gas upgrade. I have a gas cylinder in my M40A1 and i still can shoot the whole magazine. Although, I would not advise getting a gas cylinder because they seem to always leak - mine didnt even last an entire tournament before it started to leak. I would just get an M40A1 and put a 550fps spring upgrade in it if you are lookin to buy one.

Thank you Deadloc, since the m40 is out of question now, what does anyone think about the Tanaka m24?

Make a new thread or PM somebody who uses one (or do your own research). This topic comes up like every week (not that your questions aren't valid, but they've been answered many times on many forums including this one).

If you want an M40A1 you should get it. Just order the upgraded spring cylinder at the same time you get the gun. Also, you would need a adjustable hop-up system installed.
