PSG1:
Big and plastic - lots of flex.
Requires quite a bit of money to upgrade, and has a good chance of not being as accurate as a regular M16 turned into a sniper variant. It has a very solid chance of not being as accurate as a dedicated sniper weapon, like upgrading a VSR-10 for example.
The 500 round G3 mags will fit if I remember correctly, but Agroval, bstann, and Katana can go into more detail, as they own one.

Since you are new, save yourself the money and just got a regular AEG to start skirmishing. Thinking that you want to do the sniper role is what every newb wants to do, but 9 times out of 10, they are just wasting their money, as sniping in Airsoft isn't the glamor role that people think it is, plus it costs a lot of money. Get a regular assault rifle AEG, start skirmishing, see what fits your style, and how you play, and then go from there. With that in mind, I would recommend going with the AUG if you are trying to pick between that and a PSG1.
