View Full Version : 7.04.04 - Independence Day @ Hunters

Obsidian
06-28-2004, 04:48 PM
Here is the plan for this coming sunday. It is Independence Day so what better way to celebrate than shooting people, Shooting Fireworks, and eating. The plan is to show up around the regular time and play. Afterwords we are looking at doing a BBQ....ie hotdogs and hamburgers. We can use some of the money from the 10$ field fee to go get food and drinks while everyone is playing. Then when it gets dark we can fire off fireworks.

The disclaimers:
Hunters Family has requested that we clean up the field by hauling off the tires so the goal will be to get all of the Garbage and tires moved up to the Shack where it can be removed easily. Any fireworks fired off will have to be cleaned up and we need to be on the ball if it is dry out there.

So what we need is a count of who is going. Chime in on the poll. Everyone is welcome....Families are welcome, Kids are welcome.....bring your bugspray. If you are bringing more than just yourself post and give us a count so we can get an idea. We will be planning out a Game to play regarding Airsoft.

Might we be encouraged to bring stuff? (i.e. fireworks, lighters, drinks, meat, chips, buns, condiments, etc.) If everyone brought a little something it may help alleviate the cost.

Just my $.02

Well fireworks will be the big thing to bring. We are going to go get some this week but the more the merrier. My plan for food was to take the 10$ registration fee and then give it to the wives and SO's and have them go shopping and grab stuff. We were going to bring a grill or 2 out there to cook everything. If people want to bring drinks, chips, condiments, etc. We can probably cover all the hamburgers, hotdogs, and buns.

Your question was already answered in this same thread.

As to when the last skirmish is over, it varies. Usually around 5 though.

Typically, the age range for weekly skirmishes is from 15-40 years old.

I am sorry for wasting time if this was already addressed, but are shooting glasses allowed at Hunter's Field? I know they are not allowed at TXPB, but I haven't seen anything about Hunters allowing or not allowing shooting glasses. Thanks for the info.

At Hunter's, shooting/ballistics glasses are allowed for those over 18 years old, if I recall correctly.

Don't have to capitalize the first letter in every word of a sentence. ;) It does look better than any of it not being capitalized, though.

I'm going to show up even if I don't get to play. My slave masters a.k.a. Albertson's on 290 dont let me off work until 1300 sunday. The good thing is that the field is a whole two and a half miles away. So would it be alright If I showed up at about 1315 instead?

AustinWolv
07-01-2004, 11:34 PM
That is not a problem whatsoever. Merely remember to latch the gate behind you when you come in, so the animals of the property don't get out.

If people are already playing out in the field, merely try some channels to listen in and wait for the next skirmish, or jump in if the scenario allows that flexibility.

If you plan to buy more than 300 or 400 dollars worth of fireworks, ask if they'll give you a little deal. More times then not you'll get one if the people arn't busy. And keep in mind that for putting on a show for lots of people the "Cakes" are the way to go. Mortars take alot of time and effort which isn't fun if you want to sit back and relax.

Infrared, do you plan on being out there all day, including fireworks? Or just to skirmish?

What capacity is the 8.4v battery pack? That will determine how long it will last. If it is 2000mAh or higher, don't sweat it, that will last you all day. Just make sure it is fully charged.

I would assume that his pack is a mini pack since it is a TM M4A1. If that is the case, it really depends on whether the gun is upgraded, and how many rounds you typically shoot in a days worth of skirmishes.

I am going to be out there all day. That includes fire works and every thing else.

But I am not quite shure of the schedule of this Skirmish.
Is this is right?

12:00 Arrive at Hunters
1:00 BB's Fly
4:00 Leave Hunters

I seriously dought this is right. Could you please help me out.
Thank you

And my battery will not last. nOOOO!! it is only a 600mAH.

But i solved one problem. I am buying 3 Hi-Cap magazines as well as a triple mag pouch from Bear at Hunters.

But that still leaves the problem with my battery. Oh well i gus i will have to sit out for a while.

Yes, we'll start skirmishing at 1pm, and likely end around 4-5pm, depending on how people are feeling.

Fireworks aren't until dark, as I understand it.
