Friends coming?
Scenarios desired?

06-22-2004, 11:51 AM
Fireworks season. I'm not going to be there.

06-22-2004, 12:00 PM
Planning on being there.

Given the recent weather, I would think skirmishing in the shaded woods would be desirable.

06-22-2004, 01:16 PM
I'll almost certainly be there.

06-22-2004, 01:56 PM
Yep, should be.

06-22-2004, 01:59 PM
Unsure as of yet. 50/50 chance. Might be at camp with my friend...if not, I will try to make it out with a friend.

06-22-2004, 02:03 PM
roger...for once I have a free day.

06-22-2004, 03:06 PM
Ill be there

06-22-2004, 03:09 PM
So far, it appears WC will be skirmishing itself. A shame that other teams can't show up, or that new teams can't be formed.

06-22-2004, 03:25 PM
Give it some time, I'm sure more people will post that they are coming.

06-22-2004, 03:27 PM
It was in response to a recent trend, not this particular skirmish day alone.

06-23-2004, 01:14 AM
I'm not going to be able to attend as I will be in San Antonio for a family thing  . I however would like to know what the field usage costs are and how many people usually attend

06-23-2004, 11:18 AM
I might drop in.
though as I have never attened a skirmish with you guys i would like to know If you are required to be on an official team to play.

06-23-2004, 11:32 AM
Team affiliation is absolutely NOT required. Any player is welcome, as long as the player plays safely, honorably, and by abiding the TASO rules.

06-23-2004, 12:13 PM
I might drop in as well. Is there going to be a dress code required? Like camo? Because I may just come with some shorts and a short sleeved shirt on, considering how hot it's getting usally.

06-23-2004, 12:23 PM
Kelisis, you can come as you like, but you will stand out as a target. Also, you run the risk of brush scratches, cacti poking you, chiggers feasting on you, and countless other little Texas wildlife to encounter. :) It isn't that bad, just a heads-up.

Typically, BDUs are encouraged, but not required, as other clothes do stand out.

Yeah, I've been playing paintball at TXPB for three years, so I know what to look out for. :P I just don't want to be the guy that makes the game not as fun because I'm not in costume. But, I certainly don't want to be a target either. :P I've seen that picture of your gun collection. :shiver:

06-23-2004, 09:08 PM
one more question, is food and drink gererally ordered/provided for the group? if so whats the general fee?

06-23-2004, 09:33 PM
1. Please use some basic punctuation. It is highly encouraged as the forum standards.

2. Food and drink is up to each individual. Bring lots of water, as you'll need it this time of year. You can buy food and drink from the front office of TXPB, but I do not know the prices.

3. The field fee is $10. That allows you to play for the entire day.

06-24-2004, 09:33 AM
I'm there.

06-24-2004, 01:07 PM
They've changed the schedule again....I will be working Sunday. *&(#&@%(&^(@$)*&#^@)*&$@&*^@$(, and ^@(^$@&^$@)(@_*$&@^%#)#*!!!

06-24-2004, 01:15 PM
That sucks, man. :(

06-24-2004, 01:48 PM
I'm there...

06-25-2004, 07:45 AM
Ive never played in austin but im go to school in waco...and austin isnt to far so i might come if i know the time, if i have to have a waiver, and easiest way to get there from 35.

06-25-2004, 08:24 AM
1. Skirmishing starts at roughly 1pm. People usually arrive between noon and 1pm. This info is found in the Weekly Skirmishes forum.

2. You will need to sign a waiver at TXPB. All ages has to sign one. If you are younger than 18, a parent will need to sign that waiver. Download it here: http://txpb.com/contact.html

3. http://txpb.com/contact.html -> Take I35 south. Hit 183N. Take 620S. Use mapquest.com for more detailed directions/maps.

06-25-2004, 10:00 AM
Ok, as of right now I'm about 90% sure im gunna come.

06-25-2004, 10:24 AM
I wouldn't go all the way down to 183. Just take the 620 exit off of I35...

I am not sure about the weather in Austin but it has been raining all weekend in Waco. Is the game still on or is it canceled due to weather?

06-26-2004, 03:23 PM
Unless it is lightning and raining like the beginning of the Great Flood, I believe the skirmish is still on.

06-26-2004, 03:56 PM
Yep, we will be there.

06-26-2004, 03:56 PM
I'm in. Sounds like my brother got his manager out of hock too.

06-26-2004, 07:19 PM
Generally the only way we cancel a game is if the field is closed which usually only happens if there is lightning. The weather for tomorrow doesnt look too bad given some of the days we have played in.

06-26-2004, 08:36 PM
I will be there for a while.

06-26-2004, 10:20 PM
Won't be there.

Thanks to that short but powerful storm on Friday in Austin, water came in through the dryer vent in my kitchen pantry nook it seems, and thanks to the fact my townhouse was built on an incline it seeped down into the carpets in the dining room and utility closet. Carpet and padding has been ripped up, found out part of one wall in the utility closet had mold from an unrelated issue and sheetrock had to be yanked out. In short, I won't be there. Hopefully the week after next, and hopefully with my new rifle. :)

06-26-2004, 11:52 PM
I bought the last of my "must-have" gear today and am chompin' at the bit to play tomorrow. If the weather say it's okay to play, I'll be there.

06-27-2004, 12:09 AM
Holy crap, if that's the same Coweyeball I know and work with, then I really hope we play tomorrow as I'd love to shoot him!

06-27-2004, 10:08 AM
Anybody know a website for the weather at both fields? That could be very useful in the future.

06-27-2004, 11:33 AM
Face Mask or Ski Goggle type eyewear still required?

06-27-2004, 11:39 AM
Ski goggles will get your eye shot out. They will not stop a BB. Ansi Rated goggles or a face mask are required.

06-27-2004, 12:06 PM
Is the game still on?...I live in West Austin and it is pouring down rain with almost constant thunder and lightning.

06-27-2004, 12:10 PM
It's 12:00....everyone is already there or on their way there right now.

06-27-2004, 04:25 PM
So, lightning strikes on the field make things...interesting.

Of course, after everyone leaves for fear of ending up like the tree, the sky clears up.

Ah well. I had fun untill I slid behind a berm and landed on my leg, twisting my knee. Gonna take it easy this week so that I'm in prime (well as good as my out of shape arse can get anyway) condition for next week, That's assuming we have enough people next week to play. I'm not certain what everyone's plans are for 4th of July weekend.

All in all, after a year of not playing, it was a blast to get back out there again. CowEyeball seemed to have fun with his first airsoft skirmish. Too bad we didn't get around to the back field woods this time.

It was cool to see all the Austin regulars again. Always fun to shoot (or more often get shot by) Whiskey Company members.

I hope to see you all out there again soon. :)

06-27-2004, 04:44 PM
Indeed, I had a very good time. I have a lot of improving to do on both the skill front and the physical front but I reckon both will come with experience. If there is a game next week I'll be there.

06-27-2004, 05:20 PM
It was fun but I lost a mag.

06-27-2004, 05:32 PM
I had fun. I will come down for some more in the next few months. I need to get new tires first because i do not trust mine over long distances.

06-28-2004, 02:22 PM
It was fun, but I only was able to play one match. :( Now, I know why I should've of bought the thermal Ess's.
