I have been thinking about getting a new folder. I lost my other a few months back and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. I have been looking at Al MAR, Spydeco, and SOG. Anything I may be overlooking? I am not trying to go all out on it but I don't want a cheap one either. Probably no more then 150 dollars. I want something under 4 inches in length. Would appreciate the help.

go look at the bladelock 2 from CRKT. Cheaper than dirt had 6 of them on hand last week when I got an email from them. Its suppose to be one of the better new knives on the market. Other than that I have bought lots of spyderco. Thats what I carry right now. Its practically indestructable and will hold an edge. Plus with the clip its comfy to carry. I picked mine up off ebay for something insanely cheap.

Cold Steel Voyager. As of recent, they improved it by exchanging the crappy integral clip with a removable metal one. You can get them in both tanto and clip point. You can get them in 3,4 and 5". You can get them in plain, serrated, and half serrated.

The serration on these Cold Steel knives is the best I've seen on any knife. The tooth-pattern is tight.

I have the 3" half-serrated tanto. (http://www.onestopknifeshop.com/images/coldsteel/cs-29x.jpg)

If you want to spend a little more, you can get the Gunsite 2 Voyager (http://www.knifecenter.com/knifecenter/coldsteel/gunsite.html) with the 4" blade.

I am a huge fan of the Beretta knives, actually. I have carried them for about 4 years until I got my newest toy. They are incredibly flat and light, but sharp as hell. The price point is pretty low as well - about 50-60$.

What's the new toy?

The SnG is one bad-assed piece of cutlery.

I opted to go for the expensive Strider because they have a lifetime replacement and sharpening warrenty. You bust it? It start looking crappy? It not sharp anymore? Send it back to Mick and the boys, and they will only charge you for shipping. A lifetime everything warrenty is pretty bad ass in my book.
