I'm new to the sport and was thinking about purchasing the SIG552 and was just wondering if any of you guys have any experience with this rifle and what are your thoughts on it.

Even more info can be found all over the 'net. A quick Google search yielded:

But to answer your question, no, I don't have any direct experience with the weapon.

Jackal, of this site, has owned one before but he traded it to Obsidian for an M16. You might want to ask one of them or do a search and see what information you can come up with.

Not a bad gun.

Pros: Newer gun.....pretty solid.
Cons: only room for a Mini battery, royal pain to tear apart, small magazines.... small battery again :)

Adding another Pro: I love the folding stock, its extremely solid (even though it takes away from being able to use a large battery).
Adding another Con: The smaller size of the gun also means you cannot get as good range out of it as say an m16 without adding a silencer (and of course a longer Inner Barrel) and redoing the cylinder in the mechbox.

I have had my 552 for 4 months now and have down some upgrade work on it, both internally and externally. If you have any questions just shoot me a PM.

Our local airsoft store is getting some specialty 9.6V batteries made for the 552. We aren't sure how they will work yet, but I will let you guys know once they come in.

I like to thank all of you who gave me information on this AEG, I've decided to go with the G3-SG1.
