Friend's Charger: Winstar NC-789 Racing Pack Charger and Adaptor 7.2V 8.4V 9.6V Automatic Thermal Switch
My Battery: Cadnica Extra, 8.4v Ni-Cd 1800 mAh
Note: This is my second charge since I purchased my gun. The first charge I did was a fast charge (1-1.5 hrs) with the Winstar charger because we were going to do a standard charge on my first charge (5-7.5 hrs), but the outlet we plugged the charger into did not have a switch turned on.
So, I needed a fast charge to use my gun that day. Couldn't help it. :) Anyways, today, I did a standard charge for a full 7 hours. I noticed in the first hour, the charger was really hot and the battery wasn't. After 3.5 hours, the charger and battery were both hot. At 7 hours, the charger and battery were really hot, but I could stand to hold them and press on them without getting burned. Also, I could only smell a burnt smell when I sniffed the battery really close. I don't know if I damaged and burnt the battery. I'm letting it cool down right now, but the plastic covering seemed a bit fogged up. It has been 40 minutes after the charge and my battery is really cooled down and I don't smell anything awkward. My friend, SPLAT, overheated his first battery, a Sanyo 9.6v 600 mAh, and we noticed it because we smelt something burning. He used the same Winstar charger. He said he had burnt stains on his plastic covering. Examing my battery now, I don't see any burnt stains. Today, I'm going to place an order on this charger: http://www.airsplat.com/P_231.htm The Winstar Charger is a friends as I mentioned above. Should I continue to borrow my friends charger, or should I go with the 3-16 hr charger. Also, does anyone have any dischargers for sell. I don't see any at airsplat. If not, I'll look up more U.S. retailers. Thanks guys. :)
